BIOHAZARD: Refer to Appendix A, Protecting Yourself from Biohazards, for
recommended precautions when working with biohazardous materials.
1. Stop the system from the Menu screen:
a. Select
2 Maintenance and press Enter.
b. Select 7 Stop System and press Enter.
2. Open the measurement module door:
a. Push up the door latches located on the lower corners of the module door
and lift up the door.
b. Push the spring-loaded latch to the right.
CAUTION:ĄĂDo not remove or return the sensors to the measurement module
without first discharging static buildup. Touch the inner surface of the module
frame to discharge static buildup.
3. Inspect the pO
2
and pCO
2
(gas) sensors for obstructions:
CAUTION:ĄĂTo avoid damage to the sensors, do not attempt to push the
clot-removal line through the gas sensors.
a. Remove the sensors and inspect the sample path for obstructions.
b. Place a piece of tubing, or use a capillary adapter, on the tip of a syringe.
CAUTION:ĄĂDo not exert excessive pressure on the gas sensor membrane.
c. Place the syringe against the sensor sample path and inject air through the
sensor as shown in Figure 4-16.
      
