Installing a Client to Run Locally
This procedure allows you to install the client on your hard drive to run
locally. To install the client on a network, see “Installing the Client onto a
Network Drive” on page 7-12.
This procedure uses D for the CD-ROM drive. If you use a different
letter, substitute the correct drive letter.
Note
The following procedure assumes the use of a CD browser. If you choose
not to use the browser, you can start the Database Administration
product’s Setup program by double-clicking on
d:\client\setup from
Windows Explorer. Then, follow steps 4 and on.
Step 1 Insert the Database Administration product’s CD into the client’s
CD-ROM drive.
The CD browser launches automatically.
Step 2 Click the Client Install button.
A menu appears, allowing you to choose from a local installation or a
network installation.
Step 3 Click the Local Install button.
The Setup program for the Installation starts.
Note
For international versions of this product, the Choose Setup Language
dialog box appears. Select the language for this installation from the
drop-down list, and click OK to continue.
