Database Administration Installation Guide
Setting up the Client
You need the following items in order to install clients:
• the Database Administration server configuration settings
You can obtain some of this information from the
patroldb.ini file for
each Database Administration server that you have installed on a
Unix host. For Windows NT servers, view the configuration settings
from the PATROL DB-Admin Server Manager located in the
PATROL DB-Admin Server 3.0 program group.
Warning
Any modifications to the .ini files must occur through the product, the
installation program, or any utility that is shipped with the product. If
you manually modify these files, BMC Software is not responsible for
erroneous results.
• licensing information for each product
You should have received this information from BMC Software
when you obtained a license for the product.
• sufficient disk space on your client system
See “System Software Requirements” on page 1-8 for details.
• separate directories on which to install the client and the server if you
plan to run the client and the server on the same system
• separate directories for each client if both version 2.2.0x and 3.0.01
are to reside on the same client
• at least 5 MB of free space in the
/temp directory (which is defined in
the
autoexec.bat file)
