REPLACING REAR WHEEL HANDRIM
(FIGURE 3)
1. Remove the rear wheel from the wheelchair.
2. Remove the button screws that secure the ex-
isting handrim to the rear wheel.
3. Remove the existing handrim.
4. Install the new handrim by reversing STEPS 1-
3.
WARNING
Make sure detent pin and locking pins of the
quick-release axles are fully released BEFORE
operating the wheelchair.
5. Reinstall rear wheel to the wheelchair.
6. If the locking pins of the quick-release axles are
not protruding past the inside of the rear wheel
mounting bracket or there is too much move-
ment of the rear wheel assembly in a back and
forth position, refer to ADJUSTING THE QUICK-
RELEASE AXLE in this section of the manual.
7. Repeat the procedure for the opposite rear wheel
if necessary.

INSTALLING REAR WHEELS (FIGURE 2)
1. Remove the rear wheels from the packaged
container.
2. Remove the quick-release axles from the pack-
aged container.
3. Push in the tip of the quick-release axle and in-
sert the axle through the center of the rear wheel.
4. Push in the tip of the quick-release axle again
and insert the axle (with wheel) into the axle
mounting plate on the side of the wheelchair
frame until the assembly locks in place.
WARNING
Make sure detent pin and locking pins of the
quick-release axles are fully released BEFORE
operating the wheelchair.
5. If the locking pins of the quick-release axles are
not protruding past the inside of the rear wheel
mounting bracket or there is too much move-
ment of the rear wheel assembly in a back and
forth position, refer to ADJUSTING THE QUICK-
RELEASE AXLE in this section of the manual.
6. Repeat this procedure for the other rear wheel
assembly.
