ADJUSTING LIMIT STOPS ON GAS
CYLINDERS (FIGURE 5)
WARNING
To maintain the stability of the wheelchair when mov-
ing the rear wheels to ANY forward position, the
amount of tilt MUST be limited by adjusting the limit
stops on the gas cylinders to prevent the wheel-
chair from tipping onto the anti-tippers.
NOTE: Limit stops are installed on both gas
cylinders at the factory. To adjust limit stops, use the
following procedures:
1. Tilt the wheelchair to the desired angle.
2. Loosen the two (2) socket screws that secure the
limit stop to the gas cylinder rod.
3. Slide the limit stop along the gas cylinder rod until
it rests on the body of the gas cylinder.
4. Securely tighten the two (2) socket screws.
5. Repeat STEPS 2 - 4 for opposite side.

ENGAGING/REMOVING ANTERIOR
(FORWARD) TILT STOPS
WARNING
Anterior (forward) tilt is a feature of this wheelchair
designed for the USE OF A HEALTHCARE PROFES-
SIONAL or ASSISTANT ONLY. Engagement of the
anterior (forward) tilt must NEVER be performed by
the wheelchair user. When anterior (forward) tilt is
needed, it must ALWAYS be engaged by a HEALTH-
CARE PROFESSIONAL or ASSISTANT.
DO NOT operate the wheelchair when the seat frame
is in the anterior (forward) tilt position (frame stops
in the lower position and approximately 10
o
forward
tilt). Serious bodily injury may occur to the patient
and the assistant(s).
TO HEALTHCARE PROFESSIONALS/ASSISTANTS:
Make sure the occupant of the wheelchair is prop-
erly positioned.
Always engage both wheel locks.
Engaging (FIGURE 6)
NOTE: Forward tilt can be limited by seat-to-floor
height and footrest type and length.
1. Engage both wheel locks.
2. Engage the tilt-in-space. Refer to ENGAGING THE
TILT-IN-SPACE in this procedure of the manual.
3. Reposition the frame stops into the lower position.
4. SLOWLY lower the wheelchair to the desired angle.
5. To disengage the anterior (forward) tilt, reverse the
above procedures.
