4. Inspect:
SBrake drum inner surface
SOil/scratches ! Repair.
SOil
Use a rag soaked in lacquer thinner or sol-
vent.
SScratches
Use an emery cloth
(lightly and evenly polishing)
5. Inspect:
SCamshaft face.
Wear ! Replace.
When inspecting the brake lining, do not
spill oil or grease on the brake lining.

REAR BRAKE INSTALLATION
1. Install:
SCamshaft

SIndicator plate

Installation steps:
D Set the camshaft with its punched mark
a
facing the direction as shown.
D Align the projection

on the indicator plate
with th camshaft notch and install.
D Check the proper position of the brake shoe.
2. Install:
SCamshaft lever
1
Install the camshaft lever with its slit and
the indicator plate at right angle as shown.
