The on‐line auto purge and calibration check system is optional. For details on its operation see
chapters4.24,4.25andchapter11.
Toautomaticallysenseablockedprobefilter,aflowswitchshouldbeinstalledinthe‘purge’lineto
theprobe‘CAL’port.Itshouldbeadjustedsothatitenergizesjustbelowthepurgeflowwithnewor
cleanfiltersinstalled.Theflowswitchcontactsshouldbeconnectedtoterminals16&17(FLOWSW).
Ifthefilterisstillblockedorpartlyblockedafteranautopurgecycle,theflowswitchwillnotenergize
andwillthereforecausea‘Probe1(2)FilterBlocked’alarm.
After installation the purge/cal system should be tested thoroughly for leaks. Any leaks can cause
significanterrorsiftheflueisatnegativepressure.Iftheflueisatpositivepressure,anoutwardleak
cancausecorrosioninthepurge/calsystempipingandfittings.
Ifprobe/filterpurgingisrequiredbuta“Probe1(2)FilterBlocked”alarmisnotrequired,donotinstall
theflowswitchbutlinkterminals16&17.
4.12CONNECTINGREFERENCEAIR
Foroxygenprobes,a1/4”tubeconnectoronthetransmittershouldbeconnectedviaanylon,copper
orstainlesssteeltubetothe‘REF’connectorontheprobe.Iftwoprobesarebeingused,a“T”fitting
mustbesuppliedtoprovidereferenceairsupplytobothprobes.
4.13CONNECTINGTHETRANSMITTE R TOAMODBUS™NETWORK
Thetransmittercanbenetworkedtoothertransmittersandtoanetworkmaster.Thenetworkuses
the transmitter’s RS485 port. Up to 31transmitters can be connectedto the network, and can be
interrogatedbytheNetworkMaster.
NOTE: Hardware Protocol Selection The communications port of the 9060Z can be configured to
communicateoneitherRS232orRS485.IfthetransmitteristobeusedonaMODBUSnetwork,the
9060ZtransmittermustbesettoRS485.Forfurtherdetailsseechapter7.2.25,CommunicationPort
Options.
NOTE:TerminatingResistorThereisaterminating100ohmresistorfittedtothe1732‐1PCB.Lin
