Creating additional service templates
You can create additional service templates by duplicating existing service templates and editing
information or from scratch. After you duplicate or create a new service template, you can add
and edit settings as described in the sections that begin on page 184.
Note: Some pre-defined service templates are locked by the wireless service provider and
cannot be duplicated.
To duplicate an existing service template:
1. Tap the Service pick list.
2. Tap the predefined service template you want to duplicate.
3. Press Menu .
4. Under Service, select Duplicate (/L).
A copy of the service template is added to the Service pick list.
To add a new service template:
1. Press Menu .
2. Under Service, select New (/N).
A new service template (called Untitled) is added to the Service pick list.
Selecting a connection
Normally you’ll use GPRS, ISDN, or wireless dial-up to establish a data connection, but you can
also use the infrared port or connect an external modem to the USB port. See the section that
begins on page 177 for details on how to configure Connection Preferences.
To select a connection:
1. Tap the Connection pick list.
The list displays the configurations in your Connection Preferences panel.
2. Select the appropriate Connection.
Tip: For the fastest wireless data access, select GPRS as the Connection.
