Receiving SMS messages
When you receive SMS messages, the New SMS Messages alert appears. You can receive SMS
messages during a data session, but you cannot receive a message during a voice call.
Note: You can receive SMS messages even if you don’t subscribe to your wireless service
provider’s SMS service.
In the New SMS Messages alert dialog box, you can save or respond to the first message by
tapping any of the following buttons:
OK Saves the message in the SMS Messages Inbox category, dismisses the
alert dialog box, and returns you to the previous application.
Reply Switches to the SMS Messaging application, opens the new message
dialog box, and addresses the message to the person who sent you the
message.
Actions Opens the Select an Action dialog box where you can choose from a list of
actions based on the content of the message. The list of actions might
include any of the following:
Call Back. Enables you to call the sender.
Email. Opens the default email application and creates a new blank
message to the specified email address.
Call. Enables you to call a number included in the text of the message.
Browse. Opens the default browser application and displays the web
page for the specified URL.
