SECTION 1—GENERAL GUIDELINES

Stability - Recliner Models Only
Beforeusinganyreclinepositionofthiswheelchair,makesuretherearwheelaxle
mountingbracketsareinthemostrearwardpositionintheaxlemountingplateto
maintainthestabilityofthewheelchair.DONOTchangethehandling/maneuverability
ofthewheelchairbymovingtherearwheelaxlemountingbracketstoanyoftheforward
positions.Movingtherearwheelaxlemountingbracketstoanyoftheforwardpositions
willchangethecenterofgravityofthewheelchair,makingthewheelchairlessstable.
ALWAYSmakesurethatthewheelchairisstablebothinthefullreclined(backat180°)
positionandthefullupright(backat90°)positionbeforeusingthereclineroption.
Beforeusingthereclineroption,makesuretheantitipperwheelassembliesareinthe
lowestadjustmenthole(adjustmentholeclosesttotheground/floor).
ALWAYSengagebothwheellockswhilerecliningorinclining(reverserecline)the
wheelchair.
BothgascylindersMUSTbeoperationalandadjustedproperlybeforeusingtherecliner.
DONOToperatethereclineroptionifonlyoneofthegascylindersisoperationalor
adjustedproperly.
Makesurethepatientisproperlypositionedinthewheelchairbeforerecliningor
inclining(reverserecline)tomaintainmaximumstabilityandsafety.
Whenreturningtheoccupantofthewheelchairtothefulluprightposition,morebody
strengthwillberequiredforapproximatelythelast20degreesofincline(reverserecline).
Makesuretouseproperbodymechanics(useyourlegs)orseekassistancetoavoidinjury.
ALWAYSreturnthebacktotheuprightpositionbeforeliftingthewheelchair.
Operation Information
Unlessotherwisenoted,allserviceandadjustmentsshouldbeperformedwhilethe
wheelchairisunoccupied.
Todetermineandestablishyourparticularsafetylimits,practicebending,reachingand
transferringactivitiesinthepresenceofaqualifiedhealthcareprofessionalbefore
attemptingactiveuseofthewheelchair.
ALWAYSwearyourseat/chestpositioningstrap.Inasmuchas
theseat/chestpositioning
strapisanoptiononthiswheelchair(youmayorderwithorwithouttheseat/chest
positioningstrap),Invacarestronglyrecommendsorderingtheseat/chestpositioning
strapasanadditionalsafeguardforthewheelchairuser.
ALWAYScheckfoamgripsforloosenessbeforeusingthewheelchair.Ifloose,contacta
qualified
technicianforinstructions.
Thenecessarybackangle(90°,100°,110°
or120°)MUSTbeselectedbeforerepositioning
therearwheelsforward.
DONOToperatethetiltinspaceifthetriggerreleaseleversandcablesarenotproperly
adjustedtoensurethatthetiltinspaceislockedinplacewhenengaged.
