BATTERY CHARGER OPERATION
WARNING
READ and CAREFULLY follow the individual
instructions for each charger (supplied or
purchased). If charging instructions are not
supplied, consult a qualified technician for
proper procedures.
On-Board Battery Charger (FIGURE 7)
1. Remove the shroud. Refer to
REMOVING/
INSTALLING THE SHROUD in PROCE-
DURE 7 of this manual.
2. Locate the switch on the BACK of the battery
charger and confirm it is set to 115 volts and
perform one (1) of the following:
Switch set to 115 volts -
A. Continue onto STEP 3.
Switch NOT set to 115 volts -
B. Peel back the plastic cover that is positioned
over the switch (DETAIL "A").
C. Flip the switch to the upward position so it is
set to 115 volts (DETAIL "A").
D. Reposition the plastic cover over the switch
(DETAIL "A").
F. Continue onto to STEP 3.
3. Reinstall the shroud. Refer to
REMOVING/
INSTALLING THE SHROUD in PROCE-
DURE 7 of this manual.
NOTE: The ON/OFF LED indicator light AND the
charger LED indicator light are located in the FRONT
of the wheelchair next to the charger port.
4. The ON/OFF LED indicator will illuminate solid
RED indicating that the charger is ON.
5. If the ON/OFF LED indicator is "BLINKING" RED,
this is abnormal. Unplug AC power cord from the
on-board battery charger and wall outlet. Contact
Invacare at the number listed on the back page.
6. When the ON/OFF LED indicator light is OFF,
charger is OFF.
7. When the CHARGE LED indicator light is "BLINK-
ING" GREEN, the batteries are charging.
8. When the CHARGE LED indicator light is solid
GREEN, the batteries are FULLY charged (or as
fully charged as their condition will allow). At this
point, the charger automatically stops charging.

6. If the charger is on and the CHARGE LED indi-
cator light is OFF, the charger is disconnected.
Check that all connections are secure. If
CHARGE LED indicator light is still OFF, unplug
AC power cord from the on-board battery charger
and wall outlet. Contact Invacare at the number
listed on the back page.
NOTE: The wheelchair is designed with an electrical
lockout to prevent it from being driven while the
charger is plugged in to an outlet.
