7. Install the batteries with cables into the wheel-
chair. Refer to REMOVING/INSTALLING THE
BATTERIES WITH CABLES in this procedure
of the manual.
CAUTION
ALWAYS charge new batteries before ini-
tial use or battery life will be reduced.
8. If necessary, charge the batteries. Refer to
CHARGING THE BATTERIES in this proce-
dure of the manual.
CONNECTING/DISCONNECTING
CIRCUIT BREAKER CABLES
(FIGURE 3)
NOTE: To disconnect the circuit breaker cables,
reverse the following steps.
Connecting
WARNING
NEVER allow any of your tools and/or battery
cable(s) to contact BOTH battery terminal(s)/
post(s) at the same time. An electrical short may
occur and serious personal injury or damage
may occur.
The use of rubber gloves and safety glasses is
recommended when working with batteries.
CAUTION
The POSITIVE (+) RED battery cable MUST con-
nect to the battery clamp of the POSITIVE
(+) battery terminal/post, otherwise serious
damage will occur to the electrical system.
1. Install the RED battery terminal cap onto the
RED circuit breaker cable.
2. Install the BLACK battery terminal cap onto
the BLACK circuit breaker cable.
3. Connect circuit breaker cable(s) to battery(ies)
terminal(s)/post(s) as follows (FIGURE 2):
A. NEGATIVE (-) BLACK circuit breaker
cable to NEGATIVE (-) battery terminal/
post on the FRONT battery.
B. POSITIVE (+) RED circuit breaker cable
to POSITIVE (+) battery terminal/post on
the REAR battery.
4. Secure the circuit breaker cable(s)/ring
terminal(s) to the battery terminal(s)/post(s),
BLACK to NEGATIVE (-) and RED to POSI-
TIVE (+), with the provided hex flange screw
and hex flange locknut. Securely tighten (FIG-
URE 2).
5. Verify all circuit breaker cable(s)/ring terminal(s)
are correctly installed and securely tightened.
