Determining/Adjusting Toe In/Toe Out

Determining Toe In/Toe Out
1. Inflateallpneumatictirestorecommendedtirepressures(listedonthesidewallofthe
tire).
2. Measurethedistancebetweenthe
centerlinesattherearandfrontofthe
rearwheelsatapproximately12inches
fromtheground/floor.
NOTE:Foroptimumaccuracy,performSTEP
2withthehandcycleoccupied.
NOTE:Step2maybeperformedwithusing
alignmentgauge(availableasanoptionforthe
handcycle).RefertoUsingtheAlignment
Gaugeonpage 74.
3. Determinethedifferencebetw eenthe
twomeasurements.Ifthedifference
betweenthetw omeasurementsis
greaterthan1/8inch(formaximum
rollability),oneoftwoconditionsexists:
•Ifthebackcenterlinemeasurement
oftherearwheelsissmallerthan
thefrontcenterlinemeasurementof
therearwheels,atoeoutcondition
exists.
•Ifthebackcenterlinemeasurement
oftherearwheelsisLARGERthan
thefrontcenterlinemeasurementof
therearwheels,atoeincondition
exists.
4. Ifthedifferencebetweenthe
measurementsisgreaterthan1/8inch,
correctthetoein/toeoutcondition.
