SECTION 4—INITIAL SETUP
ƽ WARNING
After any adjustments, repair or service and before use, make sure all attaching
hardware is tightened securely - otherwise injury or damage may result.
DO NOT operate the handcycle if the hand crank obstructs your view. If the hand
crank obstructs your view, adjust the hand crank height before using the
handcycle - otherwise injury or damage may occur.
Initial Setup

NOTE:Invacarerecommendsthatthefollowingproceduresbeperformedbyaqualifiedtechnician.
1. Installandadjustrearwheels(Installing/AdjustingtheRearWheelandQuickRelease
Axlesonpage 42orInstallingtheRearWheelswithThreadedAxlesonpage 43).
Ensurequickreleaseaxlesorthreadedaxlessecurewheelstothehandcycle.
2. Adjustfootrest(Replacing/AdjustingtheFootrestandLegGuardonpage 32)sothat
thereisaslightbendintheknee.
3. Adjusthandcrankassembly(AdjustingHandCrankonpage 34)ifunabletoseeover
handcrankorifkneesobstructhandcrankrotation.
4. Adjustchainlength(AdjustingSevenSpeedHubChain
onpage 55orAdjusting
TwentySevenSpeedCassetteChainonpage 56)ifcrankhasbeenadjusted.
5. Ifinstalled,ensureparkingbrakefunctionsproperly(Adjusting/Replacingthe
ParkingBrakeonpage 57).Checktensionandadjustparkingbrakecableifnecessary.
6. Checkbrakestomakesurebrakesworkproperly.
7. Ifbackheightisadjustable,adjustbackheight(AdjustingBackHeight‐WideBack
OptionOnlyonpage 41).
8. Adjustseatposition/upholstery(AdjustingSeatFore/Aft‐AllModelsExceptXLT
GoldandTopEndForceonpage 36,AdjustingSeatHeight‐AllModelsExceptXLT
GoldandTopEndForceonpage 38and/orReplacingSeatUpholsteryonpage 58).
9. Adjustthehandcrank.RefertoAdjustingHandCrankonpage 34.
10. Checkthatallhardwareistight.

Adjustable Wrench (10-12 inches) 1/2-inch Box Wrench
5, 8 and 32 mm Wrench 1/2-inch Socket Wrench
3/16-inch Allen Wrench Medium Flat Screwdriver
1/4-inch Allen Wrench Medium Phillips Screwdriver
