❑ Inspectparkingbrake‐Adjustbrakeshoestofrontrim.Checkforwornormissing
shoes.Checkforwaxoroilonrim.
❑ Ensurecableanchorisattachedsecurelytobrakearm.
❑ Ensureinternalstoppingbrakesengageseasily.
CAUTION
As with any vehicle, the wheels/casters and tires should be checked periodically for
cracks, flat spots and wear, and should be replaced.
❑ Ensureaxlenutsaretight.Wheelshouldbecenteredinfork.Keepwheelbearings
adjustedandkeepspokestightandwheelinproperalignment.
❑ Inspectrimandforkassemblyfordamage.
❑ Ensureaxlenutandwheelmountingnutsaresecure.
❑ Inspectwheelsforexcessivesidemovementorbindingwhenliftedandspun.
❑ Inspectforflatspots,wearandproperinflation.
❑ Inspectchain/chainguardfordamage,rust,tensionandstretch.Adjustifnecessary.
Lubricateeachlink(3‐in‐1oiloraqualitybikelubricant).Checkfordamageor
looseness.
❑ Adjustshifter/brakecablesaccordingtoshifter/brake manufacturerʹsinstructions
(includedwith
thehandcycle).
❑ Inspectfrontfork.Keeptightandlubricate(Allpurposegrease).
❑ Inspectfootrestmountinghardwareistightandfootrestsecure.
❑ Inspectfootreststrapsforwetnessand/ordamage.
❑ Inspectseatpositioningstrapforanysignsofwear.Ensurebucklelatches.Verify
hardwarethatattachesstraptoframeissecureand
undamaged.Replaceifnecessary.
❑ Inspectupholsteryforripsorsagging.
❑ Cleanupholsterywithlightdetergentandwater .
❑ Inspecthandgripsforlooseness.Ifloose,replace.
❑ Checkthatalllabelsarepresentandlegible.Replaceifnecessary.
❑ Ensurethatcastersarefreeofdebris.
