9.1 ANALYZER (MODEL 54eA-01)
The Model 54eA-01 analyzer provided with the Model DO-03/04 system requires little routine maintenance.
Clean the analyzer enclosure and front panel by wiping with a clean soft cloth dampened with water. A mild deter-
gent solution can also be used. Do not use solvents, like alcohol, that might cause a buildup of static charge.
Table 9-1 gives a list of replacement parts.
9.2 OXYGEN SENSOR (MODEL 499ADO-54)
9.2.1 General
The oxygen sensor requires little maintenance. Generally, the sensor needs attention when the response be-
comes sluggish or noisy or when readings drift following calibration.
9.2.2 Cleaning the membrane
Although the air blast cleaner does a good job of keeping the membrane clean, a thin film of slime can eventual-
ly accumulate on the membrane. Slime can be removed by rinsing the membrane with clean water. A soft cloth or
tissue can also be used to wipe the membrane.
9.2.3 Replacing electrolyte solution and membrane
To replace the membrane or fill solution, the sensor must first be removed from the air blast washer head assem-
bly.
To remove the sensor from the air blast cleaner …
1. A pair of O-rings and a set screw hold the two parts of the sensor washer head assembly together. Remove
the set screw and pull on the bottom of the assembly until it is clear. The quick disconnect for the air hose
should be easily accessible.
2. Disconnect the air hose by pressing on the metal tab of the fitting and pulling the hose away from the base.
3. Unscrew the base from the sensor. DO NOT LOSE THE O-RING THAT SEALS THE SENSOR TO BOTTOM
ASSEMBLY.
