Lifting the Patient
Adjustmentsforsafetyandcom fort shouldbemadebeforemov ingthepatient. Patientʹsarmsshouldbeinsideofthestraps.
Beforetransferringapatientfrom astationaryobject(wheelchair, commodeorbed),s lig ht lyraisethepatientoffthestationary
objectandcheckthatallslingattachmentsaresecure. Ifany
attachmentisno tcorr ect,lo w e rthepatientandcorr ecttheproblem,
thenraisethepatientandche ckagain.
Duringtransfer,withpatientsuspendedinaslingattachedtothelift,DONOTrollcaster baseoverunev ensur facesthatwould
createanimbalanceofthepatientli f tandcouldca usethe
patientlifttotipov er.UsesteeringhandleonthemastatALLtimesto
pushorpullthepatient lift.
Transferring the Patient
Beforetransferring,checkthattheproduct’sweightcapacitycanwithstandthepatient’sweight.
Beforetransferringapatientfrom astationaryobject(wheelchair, commodeorbed),s lig ht lyraisethepatientoffthestationary
objectandcheckthatallslingattachmentsaresecure. Ifanyattachmentisnotcorrec t,lowerthepatientand
correctthe problem,
thenraisethepatientandche ckagain.
Beforetransferring,checkthattheproductthatyouaretransferringthepatienttocanwithstandthepatient’sweight.
WheelchairwheellocksMUSTbeinalockedpositionbeforeloweringthepatientintothewheelchairfortransport.
Besuretocheckthesling
attachmentseachtimetheslingisremovedandreplaced,toensurethatitisproperlyattached
beforethepatientisremovedfrom thebedorchair.
ThemastpivotboltMUSTbetighttoensuresafeuseofthepatientlift.TheboltMUSTbecheckedatleasteverysixmonths
inconjunctionwithperiodicmaintenance.
Performing Maintenance
Regularmaintenanceofpatientliftsandaccessoriesisnecessarytoassureproperoperation.
Afterthefirsttwelvemonthsofoperation,inspectallpivotpointsandfastenersforwear.Ifthemetalisworn,theparts
MUSTbereplaced.Performthisinspectioneverysixmonthsthereafter.
Castersandaxleboltsrequireinspectionsevery
sixmonthstocheckfortightnessandwear.
