Replacing the Leg Actuators
NOTE:Forthisprocedure,refertoFIGURE 7.3.
NOTE:Ifthelegsofthepatientliftdonotopenandcloseproperly,itmaybenecessarytoreplaceoneorbothofthelegactuators.
1. Testtheoperationofthelegs:
•Presstheclosebutton onthehandcontroltoclosethelegs.
•Presstheopenbutton onthehandcontrol toopenthelegs.
2. Whileholdingontothemasthandles,carefullytipthepatientliftbackuntilitrestsonthefloor.
NOTE:Itisnecessarytoremovebothsmallbasecoversbeforeremovingthelargebasecover.
3. Removethesixteenscrewsthat
attachthesmallbasecoverstothebase.
4. Removetheeightpanheadscrewsthatattachthelargebasecovertothebase.
NOTE:Iftheleftortherightlegofthepatientliftdoesnotoperateproperly,performthefollowingstepsonthesideofthebasenecessary
toreplace
theactuator.Ifbothlegsdonotoperateproperly,performthisreplacementprocedureonbothsidesofthebase.
5. Locateanddisconnectthelegactuatorleadwires.
NOTE:Theactuatorleadwireswillbevisibleafterthelargebasecoverisremoved.
6. Removethesocketheadscrewandwasherthatattach
thelegactuatortothebase.
7. Attheotherendoftheactuator,removethesocketheadscrewandnutthatattachthelegactuatortothelegbracket.
8. Ifnecessary,repeatSTEPS5‐7ontheoppositesideofthebasetoremovetheotherlegactuator.
9. Toreplacetheactuator(s),
reverseSTEPS5‐7.
