Lubricating the Lift
TheInvacareliftisdesignedforminimummaintenance.
However,asix(6)monthcheckandlubricationshould
ensurecontinuedsafetyandreliability.
Keepliftandslingscleanandingoodworkingorder.Any
defectshouldbenotedandreportedtoyourdealerassoon
aspossible.
ThecastersMUSTswivelandroll
smoothly.Alight
grease(waterproofautolubricant)maybeappliedtothe
ballbearingswivelofthecastersonceayear.Applymore
frequentlyifthecastersareexposedtoextrememoist
conditions.
RefertoFIGURE 7.1forlubricationpoints.Lubricateall
pivotpoints.Wipeallexcesslubricantfromliftsurface.

Detecting Wear and Damage
Itisimportanttoinspectallstressedparts,suchasslings,swivelbar,cradleattachmentandanypivotforslingsforsignsof
cracking,fraying,deformationordeterioration.ReplaceanydefectivepartsIMMEDIATELY andensurethattheliftisnot
useduntilrepairsaremade.
Cleaning the Sling and the Lift
Theslingshouldbewashedregularly.Refertotheslingowner’smanualforinstructions.Asoftcloth,dampenedwithwater
andasmallamountofmilddetergent,isallthatisneededtocleanthepatientlift.Theliftcanbecleanedwithnon‐abrasive
cleaners.
Replacing the Boom Actuator
NOTE:Forthisprocedure,refertoFIGURE 7.2onpage23.
NOTE:Ifpossible,useanassistantwhileremovingandreplacingtheboomactuator.
1. Unplugtheboomactuatorfromthecontrolboxonthemastassembly.Threadtheactuatorleadthroughtheactuator
leadroutingholeinthemastassembly.
2. Removethehardware
thatsecuresthetopoftheboomactuatortotheboomactuatormountingbracket.
A. Removetherubbercapsfromthelocknutandsocketheadscrew.
B. Removethesocketheadscrew,washer,bearing,nylonwashers,bushing,bearing,washer,flatwasherandlocknut.
NOTE:Lowertheboom carefullytoarestingpositionafterthe
topoftheboomactuatorisremovedfromtheboomactuatormounting
bracket.
3. Removethehardwarethesecuresthebottomoftheboomact uat ortotheboomactuatormastmountingbracket.
A.Removetherubbercapsfromthelocknutandsocketheadscrew.
B.Removethesocketheadscrew,washer ,bearing,nylon
washers,bushing,bearing,washer ,flatwasherandlocknut.
