Probable Cause
The batteries are dead.
The batteries are installed
incorrectly or the batteries
are not installed.
Test strip inserted upside down,
wrong end in, or incompletely
inserted into the meter.
Defective meter or test strips.
Blood or foreign objects put
into test strip port.
What to Do
Replace the meter batteries
(refer to page 51).
Check that batteries are installed
correctly with the positive (+)
sign facing upward, toward you
(refer to page 51).
Note: If the batteries have been
installed incorrectly or have been
out of the meter for more than
one minute, reset the date and
time (refer to page 50).
Insert the test strip with the
printed side up and the top of
the strip in the meter (refer to
page 8).
