Dialing Emergency Numbers
When you call an Emergency Number, such as 911, do not
disconnect the call or make other calls until advised to do so by
the emergency operator. This enables emergency operators to
more easily dispatch aid, such as police, fire fighting, and
emergency medical personnel.
1. Navigate to a Home screen panel, then touch
Phone
.
2. Enter 911 using the touch keypad.
3. Touch to place the call.
Note:
The emergency number 911 is preset into your phone, and
you can dial 911 at almost any time, even when the phone is
locked, restricted, or in Airplane Mode. You can specify other
numbers than 911 as emergency numbers using the
Emergency # settings. (For more information, refer to
“Emergency Number” on page 128.)
When you call 911, an audible tone plays and an Emergency
prompt appears in the display for the duration of the call.
(For more information, refer to “Emergency tone” on
page 131.)
Caution!
DO NOT depend on this phone as a primary method of
calling 911 or for any other essential or emergency
communications. Because of transmission methods,
network parameters, and user settings necessary to
complete a call from your wireless phone, a connection
cannot always be guaranteed. Therefore, emergency
calling may not be available on all wireless networks at
all times.
