Connecting/Positioning the Nasal Cannula
CAUTION
Toensureproperbreathdetectionandoxygendelivery,
Invacarerecommendsusinga7ft(2.1m)cannula.Tubing
lengthnotexceeding25ft(7.6m)canbeusedwith
continuousflow.
NOTE:Forthisprocedure,refertoFIGURE6.2.
NOTE:Thetubing/cannulamustbeconnectedtothetransportableoxygen
concentratoroxygenoutletasshownbelow.
NOTE:Replacethenasalcannulaonaregularbasis.Checkwithyourequipment
providerorphysiciantodeterminehowoftenthecannulashouldbereplaced.
NOTE:DONOT
sharecannulasbetweenpatients.
1. Connectthenasalcannulatothetransportableoxygenconcentrator
oxygenoutletport(DETAIL“A ”) .
2. Placethecannulaoveryourearsandpositiontheprongsinyournose
asinstructedbyyourhealthcareproviderorcannulamanufacturer
(DETAIL“B”).
