Installing the Battery Module
NOTE:Forthisprocedure,refertoFIGURE6.1onpage 20.
1. Raiseunithandletouprightposition.
2. Withbatterypacklabelfacingtowa rdthetransportableoxygen
concentr ator,slowlylow erbatterymodulestrai ghtdownintoba ttery
recesslocatedonbacksideofthetransport ableoxygenconcentrator.
3. Approximatelyhalfwaydown,ensure sideribsonbattery
modulehave
engagedwithmatchingslotsonbacksideofthetransportableoxygen
concentr ator.
4. Continueloweringbatterymoduleinto plac e,pressing firmlytoensure
contactwithbatterycon nectionslocatedonthetransportableoxygen
concentr ator.
NOTE:DONOTslamorforcebatterymoduleintoplace,damagetobattery
connectionsmayoccur.
5. Ensurebattery
modulehasengaged.Battery gaugeandpercentagewill
nolongerreadzero.Refer to CheckingBatteryChargeLev el
onpage 22.
Charging the Battery
NOTE:Forthisprocedure,refertoFIGURE6.1onpage 20.
1. Tochargethebatterymodule,makesurethemoduleisfullyseatedon
theunit.
2. P erformoneofthefollowing:
ConnecttheDCpowerca ble(DETAIL“B”).
ConnecttheACpowerada pt er(DETAIL“C”).
3. Turnofftheunitforfastestchargetime.Chargi ng
timesareextendedif
unitisoperating.
NOTE:DCpowerinputmaynotbesufficienttochargebatteryatallsettingsif
unitisoperating.
NOTE:Ifthebatteryiscompletelydischarged,itwillfullychargein
approximately4to5hours.Duringregularuseofthetransportableoxygen
concentrator,itis
recommendedtorechargethebattery,evenifonlypartially
depleted,asoftenaspossible.
Battery Time Management
TimeawayfromhomeisalmostlimitlessbycombiningtheuseoftheAC
powersupply,DCpowercableandbatterymodules.Toensurethe batteries
maintaintheiroptimalchargelevel,utilizetheACpow ersupplywhenever
youhaveaccesstoelectricpower.UtilizetheDCpow ersupplywhenever
youare
inavehicle.
