TheInvacaretransportableoxygenconcentratoristobeusedbypatients
withrespiratorydisorderswhorequiresupplementaloxygen.Thedevice
isnotintendedtosustainorsupportlife.
Theoxygenconcentrationleveloftheoutputgasrangesfrom87%to
95.6%.Theoxygenisdeliveredtothepatientthroughtheuse
ofanasal
cannula.Thetransportableoxygenconcentratorprovidestwomodesof
operation;pulseflowandcontinuousflow.Inpulseflow,whenthe
demandforoxygenisdetected,theoxygenisdeliveredwithpulseflow
settingsof1through5.Incontinuousflow,oxygeniscontinuouslyflowing
withsettingsfrom
0.5LPMto3.0LPM.
TheInvacaretransportableoxygenconcentratorusesamolecularsieve
andpressureswingadsorptionmethodologytoproducetheoxygengas
output.Ambientairentersthedevice,isfilteredandthencompressed.
Thiscompressedairisthendirectedtowardoneoftwonitrogenadsorbing
sievebeds.Concentratedoxygen
exitstheoppositeendoftheactivesieve
bedandisdirectedintoanoxygenreservoirwhereitisdeliveredtothe
patientinspecificvolumesduringtheinhalationportionofadetected
breath.
TheInvacaretransportableoxygenconcentratoriscapableofoperationby
thepatientinahomeenvironment,in
aninstitutionalenvironmentorina
vehicleorothermobileenvironment.Devicestandardpoweroptions
includeanACtoDCswitchingpowersupplyoperatingfromACpower
