Performing Maintenance
RefertoMaintenanceonpage 31foramaintenancescheduleandprocedures.
Regularmaintenanceofliftsandaccessoriesisnecessarytoassureproperoperation.
Afterthefirstyearofuse,theattachmentpointsandthemountingbracketoftheliftarm
shouldbeinspectedeverythreemonthstodeterminetheextentofwear.Iftheseparts
becomeworn,replacementmustbemade.
DONOTovertightenmountinghardware.Thiswilldamagemountingbrackets.
Castersandaxleboltsrequireinspectionseverysixmonthstocheckfortightness,wear,
debris(suchashairanddirt)andthatthey rollfree.
Afterthefirsttwelvemonthsofoperation,inspectallpivotpointsandfastenersforwear.
Ifthemetalisworn,thepartsMUSTbereplaced.Makethisinspectioneverysixmonths
thereafter.
Topboltmustbecheckedatleasteverysixmonthsinconjunctionwithperiodic
maintenance.
Theelectricmotorissealedatthefactoryandifserviceisrequired,themotorunitMUST
bereturnedtothefactoryforrepair.DONOTattempttoopenthemotororobtainlocal
serviceasthiswillVOIDthewarrantyandmayresultindamageandacostlyrepair.

Electrical - Grounding Instructions
DONOT,underanycircumstances,cutorremovetheroundgroundingprongfromany
plug.Somedevicesareequippedwiththreeprong(grounding)plugsforprotection
againstpossibleshockhazards.Whereatwoprongwallreceptacleisencountered,itis
thepersonalresponsibilityandobligationofthecustomertocontactaqualified
electricianandhavethetwoprongreceptaclereplacedwithaproperlygroundedthree
prongwallreceptacleinaccordancewiththeNationalElectricalCode.Ifyoumustusean
extensioncord,useonlyathreewireextensioncordhavingthesameorhigherelectrical
ratingasthedevicebeingconnected.Inaddition,InvacarehasplacedRED/ORANGE
WARNINGTAGSonsomeequipment.DONOTremovethesetags.Carefullyread
battery/batterychargerinformationpriortoinstalling,servicingoroperatingyourlift.
