Adjusting Patient Operated Wheel Locks

DO NOT attempt to stop a moving wheelchair with the wheel locks. Wheel locks are not brakes.
NOTE:Ifwheelsarepneumatic,beforeadjustingthewheellockassemblies,ensurethatthetiresareinflatedtotherecommendedpsion
thesidewalloftire.
1. Disengagethewheellocks.
2. Loosentheboltandlocknutthatsecurethewheellocktothewheelchairframe.
3. Repositionthewheellocksothatwhen
engaged,thewheellockshoeembeds thetire1

theoccupiedwheelchairinplacewhen pushed.
4. Securelytightentheboltandlock nutattachingthewheellocktothewheelchairframe.
5. Engagethewheellock.
6. MeasurethedistancethewheellockisembeddedintothetireasshowninDetailʺAʺ.
