5. Remove the two batteries from the battery box.
6. Reverse STEPS 1 - 4 to install the new batteries. Refer to 5.5
Removing/Installing the Battery Box From/Into the Personal
Transporter, page 28

New batteries MUST be fully charged before using,
otherwise the life of the batteries will be reduced.
7. If necessary, charge the batteries.
Cleaning Battery Terminals
WARNING!
Most batteries are not sold with instructions.
However, warnings are frequently noted on the cell
caps. Read them carefully.
WARNING!
DO NOT allow the liquid in the battery to come in
contact with skin, clothes or other possessions. The
liquid is acidic and harmful or damaging burns may
result. Should the liquid touch your skin, wash the
area IMMEDIATELY and thoroughly with cool water.
In serious cases or if eye contact is made, seek medical
attention IMMEDIATELY.
1. Examine battery terminals for corrosion.
2. Clean terminals by using a battery cleaning tool, wire brush, or
medium grade sand paper.
Upon completion, areas should be shiny, not dull.
3. Carefully dust off all metal particles.
Resetting the Circuit Breaker
WARNING!
NEVER defeat or bypass the circuit breaker. Only
replace with a circuit breaker of the same rating.
1. Remove the battery box from the personal transporter base.
Refer to 5.5 Removing/Installing the Battery Box From/Into the
Personal Transporter, page 28.
2. To reset - press the circuit breaker reset button located on the
front of the battery box.
3. Reinstall the battery box. Refer to 5.5 Removing/Installing the
Battery Box From/Into the Personal Transporter, page 28
