6 Setup and Maintenance
6.1 Preparing the Personal Transporter for Use
Setup of the personal transporter should be performed by
dealer at time of delivery.
Perform the following checklist to prepare the personal transporter
for use.
q Check all parts for shipping damage. In case of damage, DO
NOT use.
q Install the seat onto the personal transporter base.
q Install the Joystick.
q As necessary, adjust the seat assembly height, seat pan
depth, back angle and the head rest height to fit the personal
transporter to the user.
q As necessary, adjust the armrest width, armrest height, arm
pad depth and arm pad angle to fit the personal transporter
to the user.
q As necessary, adjust the footboard depth, footboard height and
footboard angle to fit the personal transporter to the user.
q Ensure Batteries are fully charged.
6.2 Setup/Delivery Inspection
Setup/delivery inspection should be performed by dealer at
time of delivery/set up.
Initial adjustments should be made to suit your personal
body structure needs and preference. Thereafter weekly,
monthly and periodic inspections should be performed by
user/attendant between the six month service inspections.

Every six months, and as necessary, take your personal
transporter to a qualified technician for a thorough
inspection and servicing. Refer to 6.4 Service Inspection,
page 33

q Ensure personal transporter rolls straight (no excessive drag or
pull to one side).
q Ensure adjustable height arms operate.
q Ensure drive wheel mounting hardware is properly secure.
q Ensure caster wheels are free of debris, and all mounting
hardware is secure and not damaged/missing.
q Check that cables are routed and secured properly to ensure
that cables do NOT become entangled and damaged during
normal operation of seating system.
q Ensure proper operation of powered drive functions.
