After any adjustments, repair or service and before use, make sure all attaching hardware is
tightened securely. Otherwise injury or damage may occur.
If wheel locks DO NOT hold the occupied wheelchair in place, contact a qualified technician.

Using Patient Operated Wheel Locks

1. Toengagewheellock‐pushthewheellockhandleforward.
2. Todisengagewheellock‐pullthewheellockhandleback.

1. Disengagethewheellocks.RefertoUsingPatientOperatedWheelLocksonpage 36.
2. Loosenthetwosocketscrewsthatsecurethewheellocktothewheelchairframe(Detail“C”).
3. Repositionthewheellocksothatwhenengaged,thewheellockshoeembedsthetire1/8inch(3/16inchforpneumatic
tires)andholdstheoccupiedwheelchairinplacewhenpushed(Detail“B”).
4. Securely
tightenthetwosocketscrewssecuri ngthewheellocktothewheelchairframe.
5. Engagethewheellock.
6. MeasurethedistancethewheellockisembeddedintothetireasshowninFIGURE 9.2onpage37.
NOTE:Anywheellockadjustmentshouldembedthewheellockshoeatleast1/8inch(3/16inch
ifpneumatictire)intothetirewhen
engaged.
7. RepeatSTEPS16untilthewheellockshoeembedsthetire1/8inch(3/16inchforpneumatictires)andholdsthe
occupiedwheelchairinplacewhenpushed.
