After ANY adjustments, repair or service and BEFORE use, make sure all attaching
hardware is tightened securely - otherwise injury or damage may result.
Engaging/Disengaging the Clutches
ƽ WARNING
DO NOT engage or disengage the clutches until the power is off.
NOTE:Forthisprocedure,refertoFIGURE 13.1.
Theclutchengagement/disengagementallowsfreewheelingorjoystickcontrolled
operation.Freewheelingallowsanattendanttomaneuverthewheelchairwithout
power.Toengage/disengagetheclutches:
1. LocatetheclutchhandlesonmotorsasshowninFIGURE 13.1.
CAUTION
If clutch handles are forced to engage in the wrong direction as shown in
FIGURE 13.1, the motors will be damaged and will need to be replaced.

•ToEngage:turntheclutchhandlesuntiltheyarepointingtowardtherearofthe
wheelchair.NEVERtrytoturntheclutchhandlestowardthefrontofthe
