After ANY adjustments, repair or service and BEFORE use, make sure that all
attaching hardware is tightened securely - otherwise injury or damage may result.
Before performing any maintenance, adjustment or service verify that ON/OFF
switch on the joystick is in the OFF position.
CAUTION
As with any vehicle, the wheels, casters and tires should be checked periodically for
cracks and wear and should be replaced.
Adjusting Forks

NOTE:Itmaybenecessarytoextendthetelescopingfrontriggingsupporttogainaccesstothe
casterheadtubehardware.RefertoAdjusting/ReplacingTelescopingFrontRiggingSupporton

1. Removethedustcoverfromthecasterheadtube.
2. Toproperlytightencasterjournalsystemandguardagainstflutter,performthe
followingcheck:
A. Removebatteryboxesfromwheelchair.RefertoInstalling/RemovingtheBattery
Boxesonpage 51.
B. Tipbackthewheelchairtofloor.
C. Pivotbothforksandcasterstotop
oftheirarcsimultaneously.
D. Letcastersdroptobottomofarc
(wheelsshouldswingonceto
oneside,thenimmediatelyrestina
straightdownwardposition).
E. Adjustlocknutsaccordingto
freedomofcasterswing.
3. Testwheelchairformaneuverability.
4. Readjustlocknuts,ifnecessary,and
repeatSTEPS13untilcorrect.
5. Snapdustcoverintothecaster
headtube.
