When connecting the battery cables to the battery(ies), the battery cable(s) MUST
be connected to the battery terminal(s)/post(s) as shown in Detail “A” or Detail
“B” of FIGURE 12.6 (depending on battery type), otherwise damage to the battery
cable may result when installing battery terminal caps.

flangescrewandhexflangelocknutasshowninDetail“A ” orDetail“B”of
FIGURE 12.6,dependingonbatterytype.Securelytighten.
4. Verifyallbatterycable(s)/ringterminal(s)arecorrectlyinstalledandsecurely
tightened.
5. Slideterminalcap(s)downbatterycable(s)andontobatteryclamps(FIGURE 12.6).
6. Usingthe11½‐inchlongtie‐wrap,secureeachterminalcapinplace(DetailʺCʺof
FIGURE 12.6).
NOTE:Itwillbenecessarytotrimexcesstie‐wrapinordertoinstallthebatteryboxtop(s).
7. Installthebatteryboxtop(s).
8. Installthebatterybox(es)intothewheelchair.RefertoInstalling/Removingthe
BatteryBoxesonpage 51.
NOTE:Newbattery(ies)MUSTbefullychargedBEFOREusing,otherwisethelifeofthe
battery(ies)willbereduced.
9. Ifnecessary,chargethebattery(ies).RefertoChargingBatteriesonpage 63.
