Charging the Batteries
ƽ WARNING
NEVER attempt to recharge the batteries by attaching cables directly to the
battery terminals or clamps.
DO NOT attempt to recharge the batteries and operate the powered scooter at
the same time.
Only use the provided charger with this product.
CAUTION
New batteries MUST be fully charged prior to initial use of the powered scooter.
DO NOT sit in the scooter while recharging the batteries.
ALWAYS charge new batteries before initial use or battery life will be reduced.
As a general rule, you should recharge your batteries as frequently as possible to
assure the longest possible life and to minimize required charging time. Plan to
recharge them when you do not anticipate using the powered scooter.
Therangeperbatterychargeusingrecommendedbatteriesshouldbeapproximatelyfive
toninehoursoftypicaloperation.Extensiveuseoninclinesmaysubstantiallyreduceper
chargemileage.
NOTE:Forthisprocedure,refertoFIGURE 10.4onpage 41.
NOTE:Thepoweredscooterisdesignedwithanelectricallockouttopreventitfrombeingdriven
whilethechargerispluggedintoanoutlet.
NOTE:AlwayschargethebatteriescompletelyuntilthebatterychargerlightturnsGREEN.
1. TurnthekeytotheOffposition.
2. Ensurethebrakereleaseleverisengaged.RefertoEngaging/DisengagingtheBrake
ReleaseLeveronpage 26.
3. Liftingupontrunklid,releasethehookandloopstripsandremovethetrunklidfrom
thescooter.
4. Openthechargerportcover.
5. Plugoneendofthechargercableintothebatterychargerportlocatedonthescooter.
6. Plugtheotherendofthechargercableinto110‐voltwalloutlet.
NOTE:ThebatterychargerlightwillbeYELLOWorRED.
7. AllowthebatteriestochargeuntilthechargerlightturnsGREEN.
