SECTION 4—SAFETY INSPECTION
NOTE:Everysixmonthstakeyourpoweredscootertoaqualifiedtechnicianforathorough
inspectionandservicing.Regularcleaning willreveallooseorwornpartsandenhancethesmooth
operationofyourpoweredscooter.Tooperateproperlyandsafely,yourpoweredscootermustbe
caredforjustlikeanyothervehicle.Routinemaintenancewillextendthelifeandefficiencyofyour
poweredscooter.
ƽ WARNING
Before performing any maintenance, adjustment or service, turn power Off and
remove key from ignition.
CAUTION
As with any vehicle, the wheels and tires should be checked periodically for cracks
and wear, and should be replaced.
Safety Inspection Checklists
Initialadjustmentsshouldbemadetosuityourpersonalbodystructureneedsand
preference.Thereafterfollowthesemaintenanceprocedures:
Inspect/Adjust Initially
Ensurepoweredscooterdrivesstraight(noexcessivedragorpulltooneside).
Checkframefordamageandcorrosion.
Ensurethatthebrakereleaseleveriseasytoengage/disengage.
Ensurethattilleradjustmentmechanismengagesanddisengagesproperlyand
securely.
Ensurethatthescooterstopscompletelywhenthrottleisreleased
(i.e.,doesnot
continuetorollasifthethrottleisactivated).
Cleanupholsteryandarmrests.
Ensurearmrestpadsitsflushagainstarmtube.
Inspecttheseatupholsteryforripsandtears.
Inspectseatswivelforreleaseandengagement(seatlocksintothedeterminedswivel
positions).
Inspectforexcessivesidemovementorbindingwhenthedrivewheelsareraisedor
turned.
Inspectfrontwheel/forkassemblyforpropertensionbyspinningthewheel.Thefront
wheelshouldcometoagradualstop.
Checkthefrontforkfordamageorcorrosion.
