INSTALL BATTERIES
Note: If you are changing battery size, you will need to reposition the brackets that keep the batteries
secure in the base frame. e brackets should be snug enough to keep the batteries from moving.
Adjust battery brackets (if necessary)
Tools needed: M4 hex key
1. Use M4 hex key to loosen screws enough
so that bracket is free to move along slots.
Reposition bracket in desired location.
2. Use M4 hex key to tighten screws so that
bracket does not move.
3. Repeat for other bracket.
Install batteries
Tools needed:
Group 22 batteries: two 1/2" wrenches; U1 batteries: two 7/16" wrenches
Note: Observe controller location: front wheel drive controller is located at left rear; rear wheel drive
controller is located at right front. Position the battery adjacent to the controller with its battery
terminals away from the controller, to reduce the possibility of arcing. Position the other battery
with its terminals on the opposite side from the first battery as shown below, to allow maximum
space for routing cables.
1. Place batteries lengthwise in base frame, as
shown at right.
Group 22 batteries: Install battery cable
positive wire terminal (+) on positive
battery terminal (+) of first battery as
shown above. Use two 1/2" wrenches to
secure. Install battery cable negative wire
terminal (-) to negative battery terminal
(-) of first battery as shown. Use two 1/2"
wrenches to secure.
U1 batteries: Install battery cable positive
wire terminal (+) on positive battery ter-
minal (+) of first battery as shown above.
Use two 7/16" wrenches to secure. Install
battery cable negative wire terminal (-) to
negative battery terminal (-) of first bat-
tery as shown. Use two 7/16" wrenches to
secure.
