Adjusting the Seat Width
NOTE:Forthisprocedure,refertoFIGURE 6.3onpage36.
NOTE:Whenadjustingtheseatwidthofthewheelchair,thebackandseatupholsteryMUSTbe
changed.Ifapplicable,theheadrestpillowandheadrestupholsteryMUSTbechangedaswell.
1. Removetheexistingbackandseatupholsteryfromthewheelchair.RefertoReplacing
BackUpholsteryandReplacingSeatUpholsteryonpage 34.
2. Removethetwobuttonscrewsandlocknutsthatsecurethetwopivotlinkstothe
crossbraces.
3. Removethefourbuttonscrews,locknutsandtwocrossbracesaddlesthatsecurethe
bottomofthecrossbracetothewheelchairframe.Repeatforothercrossbrace.
4. Removethetwohexscrewsandlocknutsthat
securethetwocrossbracestogether.
NOTE:Notetheorientationofthetwohexscrewsandlocknutsforassemblingthenew
crossbraces.
5. Assemblethetwonewcrossbracestogetherwiththeexistingtwohexscrewsand
locknuts.Securelytighten.RefertoFIGURE 6.3forhardwareorientation.
6. Determinethecorrectpivotlinkmountingholetouse
withthedesiredseatwidth.
Refertofollowingchart.
7. Securethepivotlinkstothecrossbraceswiththetwobuttonscrewsandlocknuts.
Securelytighten.
NOTE:Positiontherearcrossbracesaddlesonwheelchairframeusingthewasherontheunderside
ofthewheelchairframeas areference.RefertoFIGURE 6.3for
properpositioningofthecrossbrace
saddle.
8. Reinstallthefourbuttonscrews,locknutsandtwocrossbracesaddlesthatsecurethe
bottomofthenewcrossbracetothewheelchairframe.Repeatforoppositecrossbrace.
Securelytighten.
9. Installthe newbackandseatupholsteryontothewheelchair.RefertoReplacingBack
UpholsteryandReplacingSeatUpholsteryonpage 34.
