Wheelchair-Anchored Belts

The pelvic belt that is provided by Invacare has been tested for use in a motor vehi-
cle on this wheelchair ONLY. DO NOT replace the pelvic belt with a different style
pelvic belt.
NOTE:Forthisprocedure,refertoFIGURE 10.2.
Thewheelchairhasbeenprovidedwithapelvicbeltwhichmeetstherequirementsof
ANSI/RESNAW/C19.
Thepelvicbelt,providedbyInvacare,hasbeendesignedtoaccommodateuseoneither
sideofthevehicle.Ifnecessary,followtheinstructionsbelowtoreversetheorientationof
thepelvicbelttoaccommodatethevehicle‐anchoreduppertorsobelt.
1. Installthepelvic beltpin(DetailʺAʺ)intothelargeendoftheslotinthebeltmounting
bracket.Rotatedownwardandforwarduntilitsnapsintoplaceintothesmallendof
theslot.
NOTE:Notethepositionofthemaleendofthebeltwheninstallingthepelvicbeltontothebelt
mountingbrackets.Themaleendofthepelvicbelt(DetailʺAʺ)hasapinwhichisusedtosecure
thevehicle‐anchoreduppertorsobelt.
2. RepeatSTEP1fortheoppositebeltmountingbracket.
3. Installthevehicle‐anchoreduppertorsobeltontothepinonthemaleendofthepelvic
belt.
