6.
The following accessories are available for more
sophisticated operation of your transceiver.
6-1. CRYSTAL FILTER INSTALLATION
1. Remove the top cover from the radio. Be careful
of the speaker lead, which may be unplugged.,
2. Remove the seven screws securing the IF unit to
the chassis.
3. Install the crystal filter in the appropriate location
on the IF unit. The SSB filter goes towards the
center and the CW filter towards the ec;jge of the
board. Solder the filter in place, and cut off the ex-
cess lead lengths.
Note:
When soldering use a low wattage iron (40 watts
or less), and a high quality rosin core solder. Do not
use acid core solder as this will eventually cause
damage to the circuit board. Solder quickly, but en-
sure that you have a good solder connection. If the
connection is dull, or looks crystalized you will have
to remove the solder and try again.
4. When installing the optional crystal filter, move the
white or blue lead, or both to the appropriate ter-
minal as shown in the chart on page 28.
5. Replace the IF unit and secure with the seven
screws removed in step 2.
6. Reattach the speaker lead, and replace the top
cover.
Note:
Two terminals are provided for the WIDE and SSB
jumper. Either of the two terminals may be used.
