To install the rack storage system in a stand-alone unit, perform the following tasks
(as described in the following subsections):
1. Attach the hat flanges to the storage system.
2. Attach the stabilizers to the stand-alone chassis.
3. Install the storage system in the stand-alone chassis.
4. Complete the installation.

1. Remove all of the installed hard-disk drives from the storage system.
2. Carefully place the storage system on its left side.
The enclosure indicator lights should be at the top.
3. If the nut-plate mounting screws (shown in Figure 3-1) and the sliding lock bar are
present, remove the front two screws and discard them.
If neither the screws nor the bar is present, go to step 4.
