4.6 Partial Shutdown Function with Extension Module
This function allows to shut off only the outputs of extension module by using safety inputs
of extension module.
By shutting off only the necessary parts, operating rate of equipment and production line
can be raised.

The following shows an operation example when the safety relay module system in Figure
4.5 is configured.
If SW0, safety input switch of the main module, is pressed, the whole outputs
(M0, M1, M2, M3) are shut off.
If SW1, safety input switch of the extension module on station number 1, is
pressed, only output of the extension module (M1) is shut off.
By shorting the safety input of the extension module on station number 3, the
safety input is synchronized with the safety output of the main module and is
driven/shut off.
POINT
The safety output of the extension module can be synchronized only with main
module: therefore; it cannot be synchronized with another extension module.
