Securing the Occupant
Wheelchair-Anchored Belts
ƽ WARNING
The pelvic belt that is provided by Invacare has been tested for use in a motor
vehicle on this wheelchair ONLY. DO NOT replace the pelvic belt with a different
style pelvic belt.
NOTE:Forthisprocedure,refertoFIGURE 11.2onpage 67.
Thewheelchairhasbeenprovidedwithapelvicbeltwhichmeetstherequirementsof
ANSI/RESNAW/C19.
Thepelvicbelt,providedbyInvacare,hasbeendesignedtoaccommodateuseoneither
sideofthevehicle.Ifnecessary,followtheinstructionsbelowtoreversetheorientationof
thepelvicbelttoaccommodatethevehicle‐anchoredupper‐torsobelt.
1. Installthepelvicbeltpin(Detail“A”ofFIGURE 11.2)intothelargeendoftheslotin
thebeltmountingbracket(Detail“B”orDetail“C”).Rotatedownwardandforward
untilitsnapsintoplaceintothesmallendoftheslot.
NOTE:Notethepositionofthemaleendofthebeltwheninstallingthepelvicbeltontothebelt
mountingbrackets.Themaleendofthepelvicbelt(DetailʺAʺofFIGURE 11.2)hasapinwhich
isusedtosecurethevehicle‐anchoredupper‐torsobelt.
2. RepeatSTEP1fortheoppositebeltmountingbracket.
3. Installthevehicle‐anchoredupper‐torsobeltontothepinonthemaleendofthepelvic
belt.
