RETURN OF MATERIAL
6-1 RETURN OF MATERIAL
If factory repair of defective equipment is re-
quired, proceed as follows:
1. Secure a return authorization from a Rose-
mount Analytical Inc. Sales Office or Repre-
sentative before returning the equipment.
Equipment must be returned with complete
identification in accordance with Rosemount
instructions or it will not be accepted.
2. Rosemount CSC will provide the shipping
address for your instrument.
3. In no event will Rosemount be responsible
for equipment returned without proper au-
thorization and identification.
4. Carefully pack the defective unit in a sturdy
box with sufficient shock absorbing material
to ensure no additional damage occurs dur-
ing shipping.
5. In a cover letter, describe completely:
The symptoms that determined the
equipment is faulty.
The environment in which the equip-
ment was operating (housing, weather,
vibration, dust, etc.).
Site from where the equipment was re-
moved.
Whether warranty or non-warranty ser-
vice is expected.
Complete shipping instructions for the
return of the equipment.
6. Enclose a cover letter and purchase order
and ship the defective equipment according
to instructions provided in the Rosemount
Return Authorization, prepaid, to the ad-
dress provided by Rosemount CSC.

If warranty service is expected, the defective
unit will be carefully inspected and tested at the
factory. If the failure was due to the conditions
listed in the standard Rosemount warranty, the
defective unit will be repaired or replaced at
Rosemount’s option, and an operating unit will
be returned to the customer in accordance with
the shipping instructions furnished in the cover
letter.
For equipment no longer under warranty, the
equipment will be repaired at the factory and re-
turned as directed by the purchase order and
shipping instructions.
