Adding programmes using ActiveSync
You can install programmes downloaded from the Internet
or included on the supplied software CD-ROM by
performing a synchronisation between your phone and
your PC.
First you need to determine what your phone and
processor type is so that you know which version of the
software to install.
To add a programme:
1. On the Home screen, press the
Start
soft key and select
Settings
→
About
. Check the version of your phone.
2. Download a programme to your PC from the Internet or
insert the CD or disk that contains the programme into
your PC.
You may see a single *.xip, *.exe, or *.zip file, a
Setup.exe file, or several versions of files for different
device types and processors. Be sure to select the
programme designed for the
phone
and your
phone
’s
processor type.
3. Read any installation instructions, Read Me files, or
documentation that comes with the programme. Many
programmes provide special installation instructions.
4. Connect your phone to your PC and make sure that the
ActiveSync is activated.
