Tips and hints: What to do if …
Remedy:
Set the interpupillary distance correctly (page 15).
Locate the eyepoint (page 15).
Remedy:
Fit the eyepieces correctly (page 35).
Adjust your dioptric settings exactly as described (page 20).
Remedy:
Adjust the ease of movement (pages 16, 29, 31).
Is the voltage selector set correctly (bright-field transmitted
light stand, page 24; transformer, page 38)?
Is the power switch on?
Is the power cable attached correctly?
Are all connecting cables attached correctly?
Are the fuses in order?
Remedy:
Turn up the regulating knob high enough (bright-field
transmitted light stand, page 24; transformer, page 38).
Open the double-iris diaphragm of the phototube.
TV, photography
Remedy:
Adjust the video camera / monitor system in accordance
with the directions of the manufacturer.
Refer to the remedies listed above under "The image is too dark."
Remedy:
Focus precisely (page 16).
Adjust your dioptric settings exactly as described (page 20).
Remedy:
Use artificial-light film.
Turn the regulating knob of the transformer clockwise to the
position of maximum voltage (bright field transmitted-light
stand, page 24; transformer, page 38).
The field of view is
partly shadowed.
The image does not
stay in focus.
The focusing drifts
downwards or can
be moved only with
difficulty.
If an electrical fault
develops, first check
the following:
The image
is too dark.
The image
on the screen
is too dark.
Blurred
photographs.
Color photographs
have a yellow cast.
