Focusing
1. Place a polarized light specimen on the
stage.
2. Rotate the 10× objective into working posi-
tion.
3. Raise the microscope stage using the
coarse adjustment knob until you reach its
positive stop or the specimen touches the
objective.
4. Look into the eyepieces and adjust the illu-
mination intensity so that it is comfortable
for viewing.
5. Using the fine focus adjustment knob, bring
the specimen into sharp focus.
