Lift
UseanInvacareslingthatisrecommendedbytheindividual’sdoctor,nurseormedical
assistantforthecomfortandsafetyoftheindividualbeinglifted.
Aftereachlaundering(inaccordancewithinstructionsonthesling),inspectsling(s)for
wear,tears,andloosestitching.
Bleached,torn,cut,frayed,orbrokenslingsareunsafeandcouldresultininjury.Discard
immediately.
DONOTalterslings.
Besuretochecktheslingattachmentseachtimetheslingisremovedandreplaced,to
ensurethatitisproperlyattachedbeforethepatientisremovedfromastationaryobject
(bed,chairorcommode).
Performing Maintenance
RefertoMaintenanceonpage 27foramaintenancescheduleandprocedures.
Regularmaintenanceofliftsandaccessoriesisnecessarytoensureproperoperation.
Afterthefirstyearofuse,theattachmentpointsandthemountingbracketoftheliftarm
shouldbeinspectedeverythreemonthstodeterminetheextentofwear.Iftheseparts
becomeworn,replacementmustbemade.
DONOTovertightenmountinghardware.Thiswilldamagemountingbrackets.
Castersandaxleboltsrequireinspectionseverysixmonthstocheckfortightness,wear,
debris(suchashairanddirt)andthatthey rollfree.
Afterthefirsttwelvemonthsofoperation,inspectallpivotpointsandfastenersforwear.
Ifthemetalisworn,thepartsMUSTbereplaced.Makethisinspectioneverysixmonths
thereafter.
Topboltmustbecheckedatleasteverysixmonthsinconjunctionwithperiodic
maintenance.
