Section 7: Messaging
This section describes how to send or receive different types of messages. It also explains the features and
functionality associated with messaging.
Types of Messages
Your phone provides the following message types:
E-mail Messages
Text Messages
Picture Messages
Audio Postcard
Instant Messaging
Voice Mail
Display Icons for Messages
When your handset receives new messages, icons display on the screen in two locations: on the View Tab that
displays on the lower portion of the screen, and on the top of the screen (see “Display Layout” on page 18.)
Message Icons on the Icon Line
The icon displayed at the top of the screen indicates that a new text message or email message was
received. The icon indicates a new picture message was received. The icon indicates a new voice mail
message was received.
View Tab
The View Tab is an area that displays on the screen when a missed call, message, or voicemail is sent to the phone.
