CYLINDER HEAD
d. Place a 400 ~ 600 grit wet sandpaper on
the surface plate and resurface the cylinder
head using a figure-eight sanding pattern.
NOTE:

To ensure an even surface, rotate the cylinder
head several times.

INSTALLING THE CYLINDER HEAD
1. Install:
• dowel pins 1
• gasket 2
New
2. Install:
• cylinder head
NOTE:

Pass the timing chain through the timing chain
cavity.
3. Tighten:
• cylinder head bolts (M10) 1
NOTE:
• Do not reuse the cylinder head bolts.
• The tightening procedure of the cylinder
head bolts is angle controlled, therefore
tighten the bolts using the following proce-
dure.

a. Lubricate the cylinder head bolts and wash-
ers with engine oil.
b. Install the washers and cylinder head bolts.
c. Tighten the cylinder head bolts in the proper
tightening sequence as shown.
