The eyepieces are supplied with
detachable eyecups (see also p. 5).
If you do not wear spectacles and
want the eyecups to fit snugly
round your eyes:
̈ Attach the eyecups to the
eyepieces.
You wear spectacles for your
work.
̈ Fold the eyecups downwards.
The folded-down eyecups will
protect your spectacle lenses
against scratching.
To focus the stereomicroscope, raise or lower it using the
focusing drive until the desired object segment is in
focus, i.e. inside the objective’s working distance. The
working distances of the various objectives are listed in
the tables on pages 38–40.
You can operate the focusing drive with either your right
or left hand.
̈ Position the object under
the objective.
̈ Select the minimum
magnification.
You should select the minimum
magnification because it is
easier to find the desired
object segment in a large field
of vision.
̈ Look into the eyepieces.
̈ Focus the object by turning the pinion knob.
