General Operation
To Take a Surface Temperature Reading
1. Point the Sensor Lens toward the target to be measured.
2. Press “Read” button. The infrared (" ") icon will flash,
and then the “HOLD” icon will appear, indicating that the
surface temperature reading is on the screen. Note: the
distance to target ratio is 1:1. To obtain the most accurate
results, position the Sensor Lens as close to the target as
possible.
3. Press the “Read” button again to update the temperature
reading. Press and hold the “Read” button for continuous
surface temperature updates.
4. If no buttons are pressed after approximately 15 seconds,
the screen will flash “oFF” and return to the room
temperature/clock display.
Your thermometer is preset to read temperatures in
Fahrenheit. To switch to Celsius:
1. Press “Read” button.
2. Press “Read” button five times, until the “°F” icon next to
the temperature reading flashes.
3. Press “Read” to change to the Celsius temperature scale.
4. The thermometer automatically returns to the
temperature/clock display.
